Abstract: The objectives of this RPF include establishing the principles, procedures and processes to be applied
if involuntary resettlement, loss of land and/ or other economic resources, and restriction of access
to natural resources may happen. In addition, RPF is needed to ensure that project affected
persons (PAP) are meaningfully consulted, participated in the planning process, adequately
compensated for to the extent that their pre-displacement income has been restored. Moreover, this
RPF includes organizational legal and institutional frameworks underlying Ethiopia's approach and
that of the World Bank for resettlement, compensation and rehabilitation, eligibility criteria for
identification of PAP and institutional arrangements responsible for Resettlement Action Plan (RAP)
implementation.

Assessment of Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES) in three selected CLM Watersheds

Title: Assessment of Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES) in three selected CLM Watersheds
Authors: Prepared by: Invincible Consulting Firm PLC
Abstract: Land degradation in Ethiopia has led to biodiversity loss and a decline in ecosystem services, affecting smallholder farmers and the economy. Implementing sustainable land management (SLM) interventions is essential for reversing this trend and restoring ecosystem services, particularly in watershed regions. While SLM practices have been gradually implemented, sustaining the flow of ecosystem services to downstream areas requires the implementation of a payment for ecosystem services (PES) scheme. Effective implementation involves identifying marketable ecosystem services, potential buyers, and determining willingness to pay and accept within specific geographical boundaries.
